Customer Notice 17 July 2026: Gallant Investigates Cybersecurity Incident

 Gallant detected a cybersecurity breach targeting its internal IT environment on Sunday, 5 July 2026. An investigation was initiated immediately, and the necessary containment and security measures were implemented without delay. The attack has since been contained and is no longer ongoing. 

The cybersecurity incident affected some of Gallant's systems and caused temporary service disruptions. During the incident, the attacker may have gained access to information stored within Gallant's file systems. The investigation is ongoing, but at this stage there is no indication of any significant impact on our customers. Gallant has contacted affected customers directly and informed them of the situation.

We have implemented extensive containment, security enhancement, and system hardening measures, and we continue to monitor our environment closely in cooperation with external cybersecurity experts. We notified the Finnish National Cyber Security Centre and the Office of the Data Protection Comissioner on 5 July 2026, and we are actively cooperating with the relevant authorities as the investigation progresses. We have also filed a criminal complaint with the police.

We take this incident extremely seriously. We will provide further updates as the investigation continues.
